Spas, Simplicity, the Good Life

Spas, Simplicity, the Good Life

Buying a hot tub is like making a commitment to your own personal pleasure.  You will have an excellent source for relaxation and rejuvenation at your disposal, at any time of day or night.  They have an amazing capability for taking the ache out of muscles and reminding you of how sweet life can be.  You don’t deserve less, and it’s a nice way to remind yourself to take time out of every day just to be alone with your thoughts.  Two person hot tubs are a great way to go.

They’re nicely sized, so you can have one in your backyard, or even in the house, so you can have all the privacy you want.  There’s a nice discrete quality to two person hot tubs as well, and they don’t invite the large parties over to interrupt a good time.  You can get two, three, or even four person hot tubs, that are all in similar lines for style and design, and these all have the same effect of keeping the party small, which makes for more intimate conversation, to be sure.  There are many choices for these as well, so that you can find the right one for your tastes and your needs.

Going smaller is part of a nice trend toward simplicity, and working toward an elegance of design rather than ostentatious displays of the good life.  Besides, once you get used to your spa, and start to benefit from its healthy effects, you’ll know that the good life is always at hand, and that the things you’ve always wanted are now here, in your own home.  It’s a relaxing pleasure that’s very difficult to match, and the longer you use them, the more you’ll be able to really appreciate what they have to offer.  It’s a fantastic commitment, and a great choice.

Outdoor Activities in Mumbai

Outdoor Activities in Mumbai

There are many activities to take part in out of doors in the city of Mumbai.   Many of them are enjoyed solo, in groups, or when traveling with children.  One of my favorite things to do in a new city is to just simply walk around and take in the sites, and the culture and the people, at that slow pace of a stroll in the park.  Guided tours on buses are good options, as you will be exposed to many different places in a short amount of time, and most of those places are of historical or cultural significance.  But a walk through the city will allow you to take in the small sites, the alleyways, the doorways and the lives of the people.

One walk that is great to take is along Marine Drive.  This stretch, which is illuminated at night is also known as Queens Necklace, as the glitter and the sparkle of the lights are spectacular, but their reflections in the Arabian Sea are simply breathtaking.  This walk will lead you past many of the luxurious hotels in Mumbai, as well was a few great restaurants, the Stadium and more than a few really great buildings done in the style of Art Deco architecture.  For those wishing a walk, a time out on the roller blades, or a bike ride, this is one of the best places to go in the city, however it can become quite crowded.

Another famous spot, great for a day out with the children is the EsselWorld Theme Park.  This is set near Gorai Beach and has been popular for many years with the tourists and the locals alike.  There are many games and rides for the children to enjoy as well as a section titled Water Kingdom.  The water park becomes extremely crowded in the summer time, as the people of the city attempt to find some relief from the heat.  There are deals offered at the park on the weekends, and if you are willing to risk it, they offer special packages and discounts during their monsoon season.  Both of these activities are fun, very different, but still outdoors in the beautiful city of Mumbai.

Taking Advantage of Bali’s Great Deals

Taking Advantage of Bali’s Great Deals

In Bali, the street are busy and narrow. There are plenty of verdures, dogs, motor scooters, cars, horses and lots of children selling bracelets. Gas is sold in vodka bottles, sidewalks are falling apart and the sewer grates bust be avoided at all costs, because they’re loose and can cave in. As I walk along, my only regret is that I’m a backpacker, which means I have no room in my backpack to fit in anything I’d like to buy like beautiful furniture, really inexpensive beautiful furniture, only pennies on the dollar. All kinds of glass mosaic sinks and gorgeous lamps. I did buy  some clothes though; a couple of dresses for $3 each and some shorts for about a $1 each. But I mostly regret that I’m not staying in one of the nice Bali boutique hotels.

But today, I walked and walked and walked. Trying to figure out where exactly I was and what there is to do here. Eventually, I booked one of those massages that are being offered to me by every sixth person I walked by. I decided to go all out and book the 3 hour spa treatment, of course the spa was located at a boutique hotel. I also booked a 1 hour hair treatment and a 1 hour facial with a pedicure and manicure thrown in for free. This entire package only cost me $60! So, I’m beginning to see that life can be pretty good here in Bali. The spa was beautiful.

My walk back to the beach, since I’m all rejuvenated, was wonderful.

The next day, I got brave and rented a motorbike, well a scooter actually. That was the craziest thing I ever did! The reason it was so crazy is because of the rules of the road. First, there are none. Second, the biggest vehicle get total right of way. Third, fitting in as many vehicles side by side in one lane is the natural way. Fourth, if it’s faster for you to get where you need to be on the opposite side of the road, then one must do that and Fifth, there are not stoplights, well there are, but I’m not sure why.

Initial Encounter With Customer Service Determines Sales Potential

Initial Encounter With Customer Service Determines Sales Potential

In today’s global market providing excellent customer service is as important as the product that itself. Many independent business startups are oriented toward the quality of product that they are selling. What often comes secondary, or is even left up to the discretion of sales associates, until there is a problem, is establishing non-negotiable guidelines for incorporating excellent customer service into the consumer’s shopping experience. Steven Barbarich is one of the successful businessmen working today that is well aware of the importance of excellent customer service and is intent on providing the best possible service in addition to quality products.

At the very basic level this thesis can be supported by recognizing that many people will either continue looking for a product from a particular company based on an initial interaction with their website or staff. A friendly and efficient first encounter will almost always guarantee continued interest in a product and company. This is simply the first encounter and from that point it is equally important to continue providing quality service throughout the purchasing experience. However, for the company who neglects this basic structure, many consumers will shy away or deliberating take their business elsewhere.

Another important statistic is recognizing that continued interest after the first encounter greatly increases the chances for a final sale, it becomes even more essential to guarantee that the initial contact will be pleasant and efficient for the consumer. Also, understanding this serves to demonstrate that the quality of service is almost always equally important to the quality of product and businesses that are willing to invest in and insist on providing excellent costumer service greatly increase their chances for survival and prosperity. This is one of the reasons that even though there is great competition in most fields, there is also an extremely high rate of business turnover and start up failure in a lot of markets.

Repair Manuals Help With Regular Auto Maintenance

Repair Manuals Help With Regular Auto Maintenance

There are many reasons to have car manuals around your garage.  Home car repair is affordable for one and two, you are able to keep a better eye the over condition of your vehicle.  If you own a Ford Explorer, repair manual will help when it comes time to change the oil, or even change a tire.  Not only is this good for the overall workings of your car, but both the oil and the tire pressure will have an affect on the gas mileage.

The grade of motor oil, and the pressure in tires can improve the mileage that one’s car gets by up to fifteen percent combined. Or with a Jeep Grand Cherokee repair manual, you will know how to change out the soft top.  The constant maintenance on vehicles, such as the previously stated oil change or the annual tune-up can cost a bit of money, and if one has the time and the inclination, these kinds of things can be taken care of at home.

And these simple ways of taking care of your car will not only be safer for you in the end, but will ensure that your car runs as efficiently as possible.  Many larger and more expensive, problems with car engines are caused by neglecting the continued maintenance.  The tune-up for example.  When a car is not in tune the gas mileage is decreased by almost five percent.

This is easy to fix when you have the assistance of Ford Ranger repair manual, figuring out the spark plugs and the filters becomes easy instead of confusing.  Another simple fix that will help with gas mileage is the air filter.  And again, this is one home ‘repair’ that will save the engine, air filters are instrumental in keeping the impurities away from the inner workings of the car’s engine.

Learning to Scuba Dive in Mallorca

Learning to Scuba Dive in Mallorca

Jesse and Lila are a young couple that were married two years ago. The wedding was a major event and all of their family and friends were there. Lila organized almost all of the wedding elements and Jesse was in charge of the honeymoon. He surprised his new wife with the trip he planned to Spain. They had a beautiful ceremony and an amazing honeymoon and both of them fell in love with the country of Spain. Two years into their marriage Lila was becoming established in the museum and Jesse had a solid career developing with an architectural firm.

Thinking back on their honeymoon, they remembered that they had developed a strong interest in seeing the rest of the European continent as both of them had been to Britain, Lila had spent a summer in Ireland and Jesse had been to England with his family. However, they also wanted to return sometime and see Scotland together. They also heard some fabulous stories about the Balearic Islands while they were in Spain. They were completely captivated by the beauty of the islands and decided that their next vacation would be to visit them.

They finally got the chance to do this last year. They landed in Palma, Mallorca and felt an immediate sense of connection and belonging. They loved the city from the moment they got off the plain and couldn’t have been more at home staying in one of the 5 star Mallorca hotels. While they were there they took scuba diving lessons and spent a large part of their time on the beach. One of Lila’s favorite places was the old town, which still demonstrated some of its Arabic influences. The cathedral was beautiful and enchanting. Jesse also enjoyed walking through this and other areas, though he mostly favored sitting peacefully with some grilled shrimp on the beach.

NY on a budget

NY on a budget

With this economy I didn’t think we were going to be able to get to New York this year. But we did it, after some looking we found some New York cheap hotel where we saved enough money on the rooms we were actually able to make the trip.

With careful planning and thinking ahead we saved. Using public transportation to get ourselves all around New York. We had been to Manhattan many times before and never to Brooklyn or any where else around the area for that matter. We had always located ourselves centrally and could walk to nearly everything we wanted to see or just a straight shot up town or down town on a bus.

This time we studied the public transportation maps and used that knowledge to explore more than we had in the past. Not wanting to spend a lot of money finding local eateries, walking interesting neighborhoods and window shopping were really what we were looking for. We decided to go out to Park Slopes Brooklyn. A place I had head about. The streets are lined with the late 19th century brown stone houses that were very typical for that period of time in the New York city area. Taking the subway out there was easy and we really feel like we got an idea of what it is like to live in Brooklyn and commute into Manhattan. It was a very different experience that the usual very tourist way we usually see NY.

I am sure glad we didn’t cancel the trip all together and did look into less expensive alternatives than the usual places we stay. And because of that we saw areas of the city we more than likely would never have had and really enjoyed our selves more than many other trips.

Hong Kong Food and Wine Year

Hong Kong Food and Wine Year

Asia has a mystique that’s too old and too vast to ever understand.  One could spend a lifetime in each city, in fact, and still never get to the bottom of things.  The major cities where you’ll find our luxury hotels are always changing and always evolving, and when you’re here, you add to the history and the mystery of place in some small way.  It’s humbling to be a witness to the enormous cultural changes that happen here, and a fantastic way to enjoy the experience is in the comfort of our accommodations.  We offer a splendid sense of tradition and innovation, and our hotels are carefully selected for their ability to combine old-fashioned hospitality with state of the art amenities.

You’ll love the way you can drift off to sleep in the splendor of our spacious rooms, and after a rest, and perhaps a meal served by world-class chefs, you’ll be ready to explore the new surroundings.  Asia has enormous variety and diversity in all things, and that absolutely applies to the food.  It’s impossible to decide which place has the best food, and even in terms of traditional food this is difficult, because the tastes from each country and region are spectacular.  In a global society, when mixing and blending of styles and traditions are more commonplace, this is even more difficult.  Generally, the more cosmopolitan places would offer a larger selection of foods, influenced by all the nearby countries, as well as the tastes of travelers from all over the world.

This is certainly true in Hong Kong, possibly the most cosmopolitan place on earth in terms of sensibility.  But you can find the best of traditional as well as international food during the Hong Kong Food and Wine Year.  Held for 10 days at the end of 2009, it’s a masterpiece in entertainment and cuisine, of course, where guests can sample all the best of the best that this place offers.  If Hong Kong has the scene you’re looking for, and if you like to eat, this is a spectacular event, and one that is not to be missed.

Protecting Your Home While You’re Away

Protecting Your Home While You’re Away

The holiday season is just around the corner, and as we began preparing for the change in weather and decorating the house, many people are planning to head out of town.   Whether you plan to leave for Thanksgiving, Christmas or both, you will want to make sure your home is safe while you are away.  One of the key elements to leaving your home for a week, or even a weekend, is to make it appear as though someone is there.  Now don’t worry, this is not as hard as Kevin McCallister made it in the movie Home Alone.
One of the most obvious signs that someone is gone is a large pile of newspapers in front of the house and no car. So the first thing to do before you take off on your winter vacation is arrange to have someone come and get your mail and newspaper.  If you don’t have anyone to pick it up for you, the post office will allow you to have your mail stopped.  You can fill out the form in person or online.  Also, if possible leave your car, or a friend’s, parked in the driveway.
Another common sign that someone is not home is a consistently dark house.  If you have someone coming over to check your house or water your plants, you can have them turn lights and the radio or TV on and off.  Or another option is a timer.  Available at many retail stores, timers offer you the ability to set whatever lamps or radios you want to turn on and off at certain times.
As far as security goes, it’s always a good idea to have an alarm company that will call you if your alarm goes off.  You will also want to go through your house and make sure all the windows and doors are shut and locked and all major electronics like fans, computers, and other appliances are turned off and unplugged.  If you have blinds, like those available at Next Day Blinds, make sure they are shut completely.  Next Day Blinds reviews are extremely limited because of the variety and quality of blinds and shutters that they offer.  A high quality window treatment from Next Day Blinds will further prevent someone from being able to see inside your home while you are away.
By following each of these tips, you can take that extra step to ensure that your home is safe so you enjoy the holiday festivities worry free.
