My business covered me for the hotel, the flight, all the parking, food and most important, Great Event Tickets the Comic-Con. The reason being, they like me, they really like me, oh and it’s my own business. Too bad I had to use my own spending money; it’s a sacrifice I was willing to deal with. But, I wasn’t kidding myself about spending my own money at the Convention. I’m a true collector and there’s no way around not buying something. Especially, since I have no will power or control. This is why I brought my wife along, even though she regards this Convention with utter lack of enthusiasm, she’ll be my best defense when it comes to keeping my spending down to a minimum.
The thing I wanted most from the Con were autographs, toys, comics, photos, oh the list is endless. There just too much stuff being sold under one huge convention hall. What to purchase first was a difficult choice, but I went with autographs. I have an excellent collection already, but there are autographs of several celebrities I still need to make my collection the envy of eBay. I made sure to order my autograph ticket in advance. This guaranteed that I’ll be able to get the autograph I want and I won’t have to wait in line were it might be too late. Plus, most comic authors will sign the comics for free, it’s the television and movie celebrities that will charge a fee to have them sign a photograph, posters or DVDs. Sucks really, I mean why are they there, but to make all my fantasies come true.
There’s an unspoken rule at the Con: Friday’s are for Autograph. Saturday’s are for standing in every line possible. Sunday’s are for shopping. Memorize this, understand it’s logic and obey the unwritten rules and the Comic-con with be your best friend. My wife will be my worst nightmare, but one a contracted for so I won’t leave us in the poor-house or bankrupt.
