Sentosa, the Kaleidoscopic of Singapore
July 14th, 2009Sentosa is just a short trip form the main island of Singapore. Away from the hustling day time business life or the busy night life, Sentosa offer some serenity…and a bit of fun, as there is many opportunities to catch some great live shows, be they theatrical or musical, as well as historical and cultural museums. Many travel to this smaller island who are local residents of Singapore. Sentosa hotels have much to offer, and vary from the ritzy and glamorous to the quaint and charming. Once one steps foot on the white beaches of the island, a slice of paradise will become their own. The surrounding are green and lush, filled with gardens and fountains, and even two eighteen hole courses of golf, complete with the challenge, and the views of the incredible island. This is a haven for not only relaxation, but recreation as well.
The history and the culture of the island is intertwined, and offers a rich experience to those first time travelers who may not necessarily be expecting it. There are old military forts such as Fort Siloso as well as Butterfly Parks, nestled up right next to a Universal Studios theme Park. Diversity is the name of the game on the island. And for those wanting to spend time on the beach, Sentosa has got them, in the white and pristine nature in which they were found. From Tanjong to Palawan, one can take part in a variety of activities such as bi-cycling, horse back riding and canoeing…or perhaps just simply a walk. The pubs and bars along the beach host weekend volley ball tournaments and more recently they have become host to sand castle building competitions. Nature surrounds one on the island, for even as the night time fun on the beach begins, the tropical birds will sings and the origins of the myths and the legends are understood. Even after a couple glasses of sangria.
