Yolanda De Sousa Painting Goa

Yolanda De Sousa Painting Goa

With the choices available in India for four-star hotels, Goa is a particularly exciting destination. Its unique and complicated history, entwined with Portuguese colonization, its beautiful coastline, and its reputation as a hotspot for world travelers that began gaining momentum in the 60s and 70s, make it a fascinating place. Natural wonder and cultural complexities offer limitless possibilities for adventure for the tourist. The hotels, of course, are splendid. Offering all of the luxurious amenities that come with the four-star designation, there is a spirit of hospitality and service that make the guests feel welcome, and help refresh the spirit and body.

Goa’s urban life is colored by the diversity of its history and people, and there are fantastic night clubs that play one of its signature art forms, Goa trance music. There are scrumptious local dishes and a wide variety of international cuisines, and tours and sights that will keep the whole family interested. There are also many interesting art galleries, and one of Goa’s most interesting artists is Yolanda de Sousa. Born and living in Goa, and with a degree in art from the University of Bombay, Yolanda De Sousa has an impressive resume of shows, and her work has been shown locally, in New Delhi and Bombay, and internationally in London, Basun, Korea, and Moscow.

Her work is deeply rooted in Goa, in its history, culture, and traditions. Having worked as a designer for the government, she has worked full-time on her art since 1997. The paintings of Yolanda de Sousa are very distinctive. Her themes cover a large range, from portrait to abstract, yet in each other these there is the same signature style that has caught the attention of patrons, critics, and the general art viewer. Often using very bold splashes of color, she paints with a thick and heavy brush. This gives the work its emotional feel, and also a fascinating texture. When the paint dries, it cracks, and this gives her paintings the look of jigsaw puzzles being pieced together out of large bits of broken ceramic pottery. It’s a stunning effect, and gives her work a sense of speaking to the past and to the absolute present.

Sentosa, the Kaleidoscopic of Singapore

Sentosa, the Kaleidoscopic of Singapore

Sentosa is just a short trip form the main island of Singapore. Away from the hustling day time business life or the busy night life, Sentosa offer some serenity…and a bit of fun, as there is many opportunities to catch some great live shows, be they theatrical or musical, as well as historical and cultural museums. Many travel to this smaller island who are local residents of Singapore. Sentosa hotels have much to offer, and vary from the ritzy and glamorous to the quaint and charming. Once one steps foot on the white beaches of the island, a slice of paradise will become their own. The surrounding are green and lush, filled with gardens and fountains, and even two eighteen hole courses of golf, complete with the challenge, and the views of the incredible island. This is a haven for not only relaxation, but recreation as well.

The history and the culture of the island is intertwined, and offers a rich experience to those first time travelers who may not necessarily be expecting it. There are old military forts such as Fort Siloso as well as Butterfly Parks, nestled up right next to a Universal Studios theme Park. Diversity is the name of the game on the island. And for those wanting to spend time on the beach, Sentosa has got them, in the white and pristine nature in which they were found. From Tanjong to Palawan, one can take part in a variety of activities such as bi-cycling, horse back riding and canoeing…or perhaps just simply a walk. The pubs and bars along the beach host weekend volley ball tournaments and more recently they have become host to sand castle building competitions. Nature surrounds one on the island, for even as the night time fun on the beach begins, the tropical birds will sings and the origins of the myths and the legends are understood. Even after a couple glasses of sangria.

Doing business online

Doing business online

The internet is a powerful tool for doing business. You can even now have a business that is entirely online. But you should take into consideration that once you enter to world of doing business online it becomes more difficult to control how you are perceived online. That is where online reputation management comes in. Online reputation management is services that a company uses to make sure your business is coming across as you want it to online. Companies use search engine optimization services to achieve online reputation management.

Online reputation management is much like maintaining your reputation in any other part of business. It’s the same as making sure everyone that works for you dresses sharp and looks the part for the image your company is trying to portray. The problem is that online, almost anyone can tarnish that reputation with something as simple as a blog post. Let’s say a Chicago web design company lays-off an employee. That employee in turn, makes it their personal business to tarnish the company and does so by having a blog dedicated to their poor business practices, whether or not the information is true, it could turn up in a search engine when someone searches for that company or their services.

This can also happen with individuals as well. If you are the face of your business, people can do the same thing to drag your name through the mud of the internet as well. It has been done too many businesses and business executives no matter how big or small the business is. A reputation in your personal life however is a lot more difficult to fix then your online one. Employ a company that specializes in the practice and they can easily take care of problems for you.

Take a trip to Kauai

Take a trip to Kauai

Kauai is a beautiful place to take a truly amazing vacation. The beaches are vast and the water is clear blue. Kauai travel is one of the best experiences that a person can get in the islands.

A Kauai vacation may actually be more affordable than you would have previously thought. With the economy the way that is going, most people have opted out of their yearly vacation because their funds are low. Well their pain could be your gain. A Hawaii holiday for you and your family could be in grasp and cheaper than you would have ever imagined.

Something you can do in Kauai is snorkel. Snorkeling is a great way to experience the ocean without have to do any additional training. With scuba diving you have to be certified before you go down there. Plus, I personally think scuba diving is scary because you are way more likely to die doing that then swimming around with an oversize straw in your mouth.

Some other sites you should check out while you are in Kauai are their botanical gardens. The National Tropical Botanical Garden has the world’s largest collection of rare and endangered plants. The 186 acre preserve was set aside by the United States Congress in 1964 and then became the botanical garden.

There is also a Captain James Cook Monument in Kauai. Captain James Cook was the British explorer who sailed into Hawaii in 1778.

Or just hang by the beach and enjoy the place where movies have been made. Movies such as Six Days Seven Nights starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche were made on the island. Another movie that was made on the island was the remake of King Kong.

Whether you decide to spend your whole trip lounging or take in the historical sites, it’s got to be better than that cubicle right?

The Good Turn of the Wind Turbine

The Good Turn of the Wind Turbine

Wind farms are popping up all over the world. Scotland has plans to not only increase the size of the farm in Glasgow, but to build a farm in Shetland as well, which will provide more than 50 percent of the energy to light the homes in the UK by the year 2020. In the United States, the wind farm in the plains and the San Gorgonio Mountain range in California is made up of more than four thousand turbines, and is the source of energy for the city of Palm Springs, as well as the entire valley of Coachella. Many other states in the U.S. are homes to wind farms such as Texas and Wyoming as well as the farms located in other countries throughout the world such as Germany, Denmark, Brazil, China and Australia.

Wind turbine farms have many positive impacts on the environment. There is no water water pollution nor air pollution as a result of their operation as they do not produce any hazardous waste materials. No natural resources such as gas, oil or coal are depleted, and there is not need to transport the energy in big semi trucks or in rail-cars. Not only to they produce no environmental risks, they actually are helping in reducing the damaged caused by other types of plants, in the United States, and in the rest of the world. And while there is energy needed to transport materials to the building site, and the building of the farm, that energy is equal to the amount of energy provided by the farm once it is operation for just a few short months.

One of the concerns with the wind farms is the location, as the wind blowing to turn them must be consistent in order to provide enough energy for the cost effectiveness and the reliability of the electricity sources. In some areas the winds shift rapidly and without warning, just too unpredictable to be viable. On shore, some of the best locations for the farms are too far away from cities to be of any use. Some countries and cities, attend to this problem by building the farms off shore. Careful considerations must be made for the off shore sites as well, to ensure that no harm will be caused to marine life and aquatic bird-life. Companies today are weighing all the options, and within a few short years, one third of the worlds electricity may come from something so simple as the wind blowing across the plains.

Sevilla Landmarks and Cuisine

Sevilla Landmarks and Cuisine

Sevilla, Spain, as of the latest count, is the countries fourth largest metropolitan area with a population count of almost one and one half million people. In the city itself, there are over 700,000 residents. Located on the Guadalquivir River, it is considered to be Southern Spain’s financial, cultural and artistic capital. The city is ancient, over 2,000 years old so one can imagine the numerous changes that have taken place during its formation. Over the centuries, millions and millions of people have lived, worked and worshipped here, forming the many varied cultures and beliefs that are found in Sevilla today. Sevilla Spain hotels are an experience of their own. From five star on down, you will find whatever fits your needs and your wallet. But rest assured, you will enjoy your stay; always welcome, always special.

There are many breathtaking architectural wonders here. One of the most beautiful monuments is the Cathedral of Seville, construction starting in 1401. Of all the medieval and gothic monuments, this one is considered the largest. It is ornately decorated, with gold being used lavishly throughout. The Bell Tower was originally known as the Giralda, which was a minaret until its conversion. Atop the tower is a statue known as El Giraldillo and represents Faith. Interestingly, when the tower was built, there were no stairs leading to the tower, only ramps so the Muezzin and other riders could reach the top on horseback.

And the cuisine, ahhh the cuisine. You will find a multitude of choices to satisfy any appetite. From the more exotic seafood such as squid and swordfish to the more common shrimp and local fish, fried, grilled or baked, with or without sauces. There is ham, lamb, snails and sweets. Try the pestinos, which are honey coated sweet fritters, or the fried slices of bread with honey, known as torrijas. Your taste buds will remember Sevilla long after your return home.
