Portland Art Museum gets NW’s first van Gogh

It’s a dark, disquieting picture of a black spindly ox pulling a rickety cart, surrounded by black birds. And now it’s the most expensive gift of a single object in the history of the Portland Art Museum and the museum’s first painting by Vincent van Gogh.
